It's not only the lives of our IHN guests that are
changed, but also the lives of the many volunteers who
help!
Below are a few of
the actual statements
we've received from our guests and volunteers.
“IHN assisted us with
finding our own home and catching up on past due bills.”

“It was a blessing for me and my sons to stay at IHN. I
could not have achieved my goals without the support of
staff and volunteers. I would consider you all a member
of my family.”
Kibby, Guest
“Thanks to everyone involved with IHN. We will never
forget the experiences that we have had.”
Kristi, Guest
"We
found a home to call our own."
Rick and Shalon, Guests
"I love you and thank you for giving me and my kids
somewhere to stay until we found housing."
Paula, Guest
"IHN is
a ministry that not only helps homeless families, but
also changes the hearts of volunteers.”

"Hi, IHN Folks,
"Vera and I had the privilege of dining and visiting
with Richard, Kevin and their families at St. Michael
this evening. What a pleasant evening we enjoyed!
Hearing of their life experiences, observing their
well-behaved children and their positive outlooks in
spite of many setbacks was truly inspiring.
"It is true that people involved in ministry gain much
more than they give; that fact was so evident to us this
evening! Having Dianne drop in twice during the evening
was also a joy, as always.
"Thanks for all that you do for IHN and for allowing us
to participate!"
Dick & Vera, Volunteers
"I
was in an abusive marriage with an alcoholic husband.
His alcoholism lead to domestic violence and the
frequency of violent beatings continued to the point
that I was hospitalized at St. Joe Hospital. The
children were staying with a friend while I was
hospitalized. After a long hospital stay I was
discharged and I vowed that I would not go back to that
situation or put the kids through any more traumas. With
no family in the area to turn to I called 211. They told
me about a shelter just for families called Interfaith
Hospitality Network (IHN)
"I never thought I would be homeless. That was about the
last thing I would have imagined. We had nothing, no
food, money, cloths, or even a place to lay our head –
nothing.
"Upon entering IHN they explained how different churches
in the community would take turns housing us and provide
for us until we could get back on our feet. So around
late afternoon this large van took us (the other
homeless families as well) to a beautiful white church
on a hill. They were happy to see us and they cared for
us there. They really loved on us and made us feel
worthy.
"At the church there was an African-American woman who
sat down with me and told me her story. Wow I wasn’t
alone. We laughed and we cried that night and she
blessed me with a future. She really opened the door of
faith in my life. I don’t even know her name but on that
night she was Jesus to me. She helped me exchange joy
for my sorrow, and gave me hope for tomorrow and
strength for the days ahead.
"Talk about a changed life! I am employed now as a
church secretary and I have been blessed beyond measure.
I am so thankful for that woman who met me at the white
church on the hill and took me in when I needed love and
encouragement. I have a special mission now. I tell all
who will listen how God can change lives."
