The Families First Capital Campaign will expand Just Neighbors to meet the rising need for family shelter in our community. The project will double our capacity by adding seven bedrooms, an ADA-accessible bathroom, laundry facility, and staff office, as well as a new overnight emergency shelter space so families have a safe place to stay the moment they need help. Improvements include updated HVAC, upgraded security, additional beds, and parking enhancements to support increased use. This expansion ensures families experiencing a housing crisis can remain safe, together, and supported while working toward permanent stability.

Family homelessness is growing in our community at an alarming rate. In 2024, 587 families reached out to Just Neighbors seeking safety and stability. Because our current space is limited, we could only shelter a fraction of them, meaning 526 families had to hear the words no parent should ever hear: We don’t have room.

No family should be left without a safe place to sleep.

With your support, we are expanding our services to include overnight shelter, ensuring that families in crisis have a warm, secure space the moment they need it. This expansion will allow parents and children to stay safe and stay together until a room becomes available in our 45-day housing program.
